Tina, founder of Dancemind is a Dance Practitioner and Arts Manager, who has worked in the field of dance as a dancer, teacher and facilitator for over 16 years now. She currently specialises in dance and health work promoting emotional, physical and mental well-being through dance, music and movement. She has been inspired by this work since 2001 when working at a hospital looking after a variety of people through poor mental health whilst undertaking her degree. It was here that Tina wanted to incorporate the two things she felt most passionate about - dance and supporting others. After graduating in 2004 with first class honors degree in dance and Performance, Tina went on to teach dance to a group of adults with mental health problems which launched her into this journey, and has since lead to some amazing and inspiring work that continues to make a difference to this day.

Tina has taught in many health care settings including the NHS and private health care as well as in education and community settings offering dance, movement and creativity sessions to all people from nursery age to the most frail, allowing everybody to feel a sense of embodiment, enrichment and to increase their overall sense of well-being and physical health.

“I didn’t want to even get up this morning let alone dance, but now I have I feel I can tackle tasks that I probably would have normally put off. I need to remember this feeling next time I’m asked to dance as I feel so alive” (Participant in a residential home)
