Tina, founder of Dancemind is a Dance Practitioner and Arts Manager, who has worked in the Arts sector as a dancer, teacher and Manager for over 17 years now, currently specialising in dance and health work promoting emotional, physical and mental well-being through dance, music and movement.

Tina was inspired by this work in 2001 when working at a Mental Health Charity looking after a variety of people with mental health conditions whilst undertaking her degree. It was here that Tina discovered she wanted to incorporate the two things she felt most passionate about - the Arts and helping others. After graduating in 2004 with first class honours degree in dance and Performance Studies, Tina was fortunate enough to be able to work in the field of dance with a portfolio career teaching, dancing and coordinating community dance events across the UK. However, Tina's first Arts and Health intervention started in 2003 when delivering dance sessions to a group of women in a secure mental health setting, which launched her career developing provision in the Arts and Health sector that went on to become Dancemind.  Since then, Tina continues to build on and delivers successful Arts and Health programmes of work by delivering dance and other arts forms across the East Midlands and beyond, both in community and health care settings supporting people to live full and active lives in society.

Tina has worked within the NHS and private health care as well as in education and community settings offering dance, movement and creativity sessions to all people at all stages in life.

“I didn’t want to even get up this morning let alone dance, but now I have I feel I can tackle tasks that I probably would have normally put off. I need to remember this feeling next time I’m asked to dance as I feel so alive” (Participant in a residential home)
